Oceanic Human Rights & Welfare Council (OHRWC) is a professionally governed Section 8 (Not-for-Profit) organization established to protect the rights, dignity, safety, and careers of seafarers and global workforce professionals.

Our work spans seafarer grievance redressal, anti-fraud awareness, ethical placement support, skill development, research, safety education, and career readiness, ensuring that no seafarer or worker is exploited—onshore or onboard.

  Shri Pankaj Mishra-Chairman 

widley known as the -“Voice of Seafarers”-

Shri Pankaj Mishra has been consistently raising critical issues related to seafarers before various statutory and regulatory authorities.His leadership is dedicated to safeguarding the rights,dignity,and professional future of maritime professional.

  Shri A.K TIWARI- National Advisor

 Mr. A.K.Tiwari is currently working as a Advocate- Supreme Court of India and he is Standing Counsel, Govt.Of India.

Under his valuable guidance and legal expertise,the organization works to ensure that seafarers welfare,rights,and legal protection are upheld with strong institutional support. 

  Shri Vikash Kumar National Head,Welfare and Education

With over 12 years of experience in Anti-corruption and trade unions with social justice industry,he leads the organizations efforts in education,awareness,and welfare programs for seafarers and maritime professionals.

  Shri Manoj Hate- Branch Director

Mr. Manoj Hate is a Black Belt in Taekwondo and International Gold Medalist with Board Member, Karata Association Maharashtra.

He actively contributes his time and expertise to support seafarers through personal safety training,and anti-fraud awareness,and protection against exploitation,dedicating himself full-time to the mission of the organization.

  Shri Rohit Kumar-Administrative & Compliance officer

Mr. Rohit Kumar brings valuable experience in recovery operations and administrative management, he oversees the day-to-day office administration and sponsorships trainee management of the OHRWC institute.

He insures smooth operational functioning ,discipline, and a supportive living environment for trainees, contributing to the overall efficiency and welfare of the organization. 

The council works in coordination with maritime professionals, legal experts, welfare organizations, and regulatory authorities to promote transparency,justice,and sustainable careers in the maritime industry”.

Oceanic Human Rights & Welfare Council works at the grassroots and policy level to address seafarers’ concerns.

Our Seafarer Welfare Activities Include:

  • Seafarers grievance guidance & escalation support
  • Awareness on legal rights, contracts & compliance
  • Anti-scam campaigns and fraud prevention education
  • Support in abandonment, non-payment & unfair treatment cases
  • Coordination with unions, NGOs, and authorities (where applicable)

  • We do not charge seafarers for raising their voice against injustice.
